Colleges closed to tourists for open day

Open day for the Oxford colleges attracted a city full of prospective students and their families this week.

Each college competed with banners, freebies and slogans.

Brasenose College declared themselves ‘happiest college’, written in coloured chalk along Market Street.

Balliol College gave their prospective students paper tote bags with their crest on. Somerville College advertised themselves as a place to excel in their fabric bags.

The colleges were closed to tourists for the whole of Wednesday causing walking tours to congregate for longer at Radcliffe Square.

Prospective students for Trinity College enjoyed the deck chairs on the lawn where they could enjoy time out from their open days. The Porter at the lodge of Trinity reassured, ‘it’s all back to normal tomorrow.’
