Travel Review – Hotel Romeo Naples

The bustle of Naples is behind me the moment my taxi pulls up at the hotel entrance as a porter opens the cat food takes my hand luggage out of my lap and guides me to the lobby.

The hotel Romeo is both style and substance. Inside the lobby are modern sculptures of hands and miniature fountains. The staff at the desk go the extra mile to double check my room has not been used by a smoker.

Everyone here lends a helping hand as having only an hour to see Naples before I leave for the airport the concierge creates the perfect route for me to walk around the city at 7am.

The plans to meet friends are soon forgotten when I open the door to my room. A free standing wash basin, nespresso machine, fluffy robe with matching slippers, plate of local pastries and high end bespoke toiletries lure me to unwind. In my standard double room there is a leather recliner that brings total relaxation.

The hotel is situated on a busy road opposite Docks. The room is perfectly sound proofed although the view past the net curtains cannot pretend to be Naples finest I am curious about the comings and goings there and enjoy a few hours of people watching.

Breakfast is served with a view through the hotel spa. The buffet breakfast is exquisite with fresh salmon and eggs Benedict proving to be popular.

The indoor hotel pool is compact with a few poolside loungers available. If I could have used the spa during a quiet period then I know the experience would be soporific.

In short, bliss on a plate.
