Oxford Circus Arrests

Section 14 is served on Oxford Circus protest area this afternoon with police separating protestors from passers by.

Oxford Street is pedestrianised for the bank holiday weekend due to the protest. Celebrities such as Emma Thompson address the crowds from the now famous pink boat stationed at the usually busy traffic junction.

Thompson speaks to twitter after reading a poem and says ‘Earth is like our bodies we should look after it.’ She wishes those who stay to face arrest well and describes them as ‘the experts in this.’

A police officer says that protestors at Oxford Circus are being given warning to go to Marble Arch. After several warnings they are given 2 minutes to leave before they are arrested.

No one is allowed to enter the protest area although people are allowed to leave. Passers by are being moved to the North of the protest area with helicopters monitoring the site overhead.
