Soap suds sell out in Saxon tower

After over 20 years at the center of Oxford city, luxury soap and home fragrance company is closing its doors.

Carfax has been the home for landmark Crabtree and Evelyn store, under Carfax tower.

‘It’s not just this store but the whole of Crabtree and Evelyn. It’s going online only’ said a sales assistant who added, ‘things have to come to an end but I think it will come back.’ She went on to suggest high overheads are the problem.

The shops closed its doors for the last time on March 20th with no plans to relocate to alternative premises.

The range of traditional English scented creams and lotions have been popular with tourists for decades.
